ASK Cabaret Night is Back (Music - Film - Spoken Word - Theater)
The Arts Society of Kingston (ASK) will be holding a cabaret on Saturday, February 18th, at 8:00 p.m., (Snow Date: Feb. 25). The evening will feature music by Sandrine , a short film by Michael Gaylin, spoken word by story teller Lorin Rose, and a short play by Karen Rich. There is a $10 suggested donation for this event.
Music: Sandrine. The Australian singer-songwriter extraordinaire, now a Kingston treasure, has written and recorded hit songs in France and Australia. Sandrine will present new and old songs.
Film: Michael Gaylin will screen his short film "Intelligence." Based on a play by David Smilow, the film takes place somewhere in the Persian Gulf as a team of American soldiers and an absurdly incompetent interpreter attempt to interrogate Arabic detainees. Will the real terrorist please stand up?
Spoken Word: Lorin Rose, a lifelong Woodstocker, regularly contributes poems to the Woodstock Times. With a keen ear and a sharp wit, he has spent 50 years collecting stories and now has begun to share them.
Theater: "The H Word," a hilarious and shocking play by playwright Karen Rich.
