Arts Society of Kingston 97 Broadway, Kingston, NY, United States

Our Spotlight Solo Artist for the month of July is Todd Samara, with the Spotlight Exhibition titled Todd Samara: A Lifetime of Art. He captured the life of the neighborhood in vividly colored landscapes, streetscapes, interior scenes and portraits of area residents. This exhibit consists of over 40 paintings, most consisting of landscapes of Rondout, although there are also inventive studio views and a few figure studies. Releasing into Process

Arts Society of Kingston 97 Broadway, Kingston, NY, United States

In this class we will allow for spontaneous movement, stillness, and imagination. Using poetic imagery and various sound environments we can cultivate a heightened awareness of our integrated internal and external landscapes, bringing us into the present moment in new and unanticipated ways. Through our practice we create the possibility of letting go of unnecessary tension and tuning into subtle perception while simultaneously igniting our own creative processes.

Choreography on the Edge

Arts Society of Kingston 97 Broadway, Kingston, NY, United States

Choreography on the Edge is an eclectic mix of dance genres, from Ballet to Zumba (not really, but a ‘Z’ was needed).  This year’s show includes Ballet, Modern, Jazz and dance improvisation among other styles.  Among the choreographers are local professionals and companies from Albany to NYC.  Each piece has been choreographed specifically for this show and represents the choreographer’s going out of their comfort zone to try something new.  This show promises to be an exciting and rewarding experience.
