Opening reception May 5, 5-8pm
Landscape Variations presents a wonderful opportunity for both the artist and the viewer. For the photographer, it is an important event where work that has evolved over the past several years can be presented to the highest professional standard in a very desired local gallery space. For the viewer, it is a relatively rare occasion to more personally share in the fine art experience.
Presented here are landscape abstractions created from images captured in the Hudson River Valley. Each is an interpretation and/or construction representing a composite of experiences seen and felt while immersed in the natural beauty of this environment. As with many of us, immediate surroundings are too often taken for granted and rarely ever truly appreciated. This recent work has become the antithesis of not seeing and being present in this magical place. The images are true representations of what can be seen and experienced in our own exotic backyard without having to travel to the ends of planet earth.
Too often, those who truly love and enjoy attending fine art exhibitions find themselves leaving a show disappointed and frustrated by the the cost of purchasing fine art. As we know, fine art can be very expensive and a challenge to one’s budget. There can be agreement that creative individuals, like everyone else, should have the right to benefit and thrive from their talents and hard work. This legitimate pursuit, however, does not have to work against the art lovers desire and opportunity to buy. The approach of strategically sizing fine art to create affordable prices is an important part of the planning behind this exhibition. Here, both artist’s and viewers interests can be satisfied.
It is hoped that you find this work both enjoyable and appreciate the commitment and time that has gone into the creation of these images. Lastly, if you should so choose, please take advantage of the opportunity presented by this unique exhibition. It is indeed a chance to leave a fine art exhibition with a beautiful work in hand.
Thank you for sharing in this exhibition experience and giving your time and consideration to this work ………………………. Glenn DeWitt
